| CM Lays down IT PARK's foundation stone |

Chief Minister Mr. Narayan Dutt Tiwari laid down the foundation stone of Information Technology Park, at Sahastradhara Road, in Dehradun- being developed by SIDCUL - amidst the august presence of Mr. Manvendra Shah, MP; former Chief Minister Mr. Bhagar Singh Koshiyari; Mr Hira Singh Bisht, Cabinet Minister and local MLA; besides senior govt. functionaries and representatives of IT majors like Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, IBM, HP, HCL, Wipro and TCS, and the representatives of World Bank.
Speaking after laying down the foundation stone of Information Technology Park, Mr. Narayan Datt Tiwari reiterated the resolve of the Government to make Uttaranchal a leading destination of knowledge based industries. He exhorted everybody concerned with the project, to fully commit them to the timely and successful completion of the project.

Mr.Amarendra Sinha, Secretary Information Technology, informed that the IT park would have a total built up area of 30 lac square feet consisting of two cyber towers having plug & play facilities of over 2.5 lac square feet, an Software Technology Park of India (STPI) Incubation center having a built-up area of about 1.0 lac square feet and independent plots which will have an approximate built-up area of 2.75 lac square feet spread over 40 acres of land. In addition roads, water bodies, green areas, common facilities etc. will constitute 15 acres of land.
Mr. Sanjeev Chopra Secretary Industrial Development, informed that SIDCUL has been entrusted with the responsibility of developing industrial parks and estates of Pantnagar, Haridwar and Sitarganj, besides the IT Park.
He further pointed out that M/s Feedback Ventures had been appointed as the Project Manager to this park and that the first phase work has already been awarded at a cost of Rs. 5.30 crore. Site work and mobilization has already commenced. The target date of completion is October 2005. The target date of beginning of marketing initiative is April 2005.
According to Mr. Alok Kumar, MD, SIDCUL, the vision is to develop a Technology Park, a property based development which has a high-quality physical environment (basic & support infrastructure), emphasizing on activities promoting rowth of research, technology, and knowledge based enterprises. The commitment is to be as business space provider that takes care of all business needs in a community like setting and ambience. This information Technology Park is envisioned as an integrated and the self-contained development to match similar projects elsewhere with "best in class" features and amenities.
