Government of Uttarakhand is participating in Pharma Expo 2005, organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) from October 20-22, 2005 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai.
The venue for the exhibition, Mumbai, is in close proximity to major pharmaceutical manufacturers in Western India that accounts for approximately 50% of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry. The objective of the Exhibition will be to bring together the manufacturers and suppliers of process plant and equipment, for this growing industry, all under one roof.
SIIDCUL has successfully initiated Pharma City in Selaqui Industrial Area, Chakrata Road, Dehradun and is expanding the Pharma activities in other areas of Uttarakhand, to name some – Haridwar, Pantnagar, Kotdwar, Sitarganj.
A team of State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (SIIDCUL), Govt. of Uttarakhand led by Mr. Atul Kumar, General Manager (Project & Administration), SIIDCUL and accompanied by Mr. Vipul Dhasmana, Consultant, Corporate Communications will be available at the Pharma Expo-2005 for live exhibiting of the projects through internet and SIIDCUL’s website; in situ business meetings; holding of targeted business meetings with the delegations of various industries / organisations of Mumbai. Currently, the global output of the Indian Pharma industry ranks fourth in terms of volume and 13th in terms of value and it is all set to move up the value chain by overhauling its strategies to suit the new regime. The total size of the industry is estimated at $7 billion with exports accounting for $2.5 billion. Over the next decade, it has the potential to grow five-fold to $35 billion because of the synergy in the fields of IT, bio-technology, medicine and pharmaceutical sciences.
